Interesting Idea - Zajac

Description

With the addition of Tatar, Kuokkanen is pushed to the 3rd line and one of Holtz or Johnsson is pushed out of the lineup (most likely Holtz). This also separates Kuokkanen and Sharangovich which isn't the smartest idea since they had great chemistry together with Zajac/Hughes. Devils could kill two birds with a stone by getting a veteran 3C and bringing back the Kuokkanen-Zajac-Sharngovich line. This would open a spot on the first line next to Hughes and Tatar. This spot can either go to one of the young guys (Foote/Holtz) or would be given to a veteran sniper like Tarasenko, JVR, or Kessel (preferably a player with 1 year left). The last part of the idea is to put Boqvist on the 4th line who could be a great replacement for Bastian.

I think place holder could really break out this year playing with Hughes on the top line. Could get a nice payday next offseason.

I am all for Zajac back to Devils in short-term leadership role. I don’t think they move Johnsson though as his contract would be harder to shed.
