Aside from the money being way too low, Ottawa giving Tkachuk a 4 year deal is the worst possible scenario. It walks him right to UFA status.

This rumour is ridiculous. Tkachuk texted Dorion after they drafted Tyler Boucher saying he loved the pick. He knows this team is rebuilding the right way. The "he's unhappy" and "wants a 4 year deal" is from Keven Mawn's article. The guy runs a Montreal Canadians fan site and has 62 followers on twitter, so I'll continue to believe what Tkachuk has said in every interview over Mawn's desperate attempt to start rumours and pretend he has inside info.
