That’s true, this does make him more tradeable, and it wouldn’t be too outrageous for Seattle to retain 50% of the contract. (At a cost of course)
That was my thought. Two year "rental", so doesn't hurt anyone's cap structure long term, and if Seattle retains salary to send him to a cap tight team, he's only on their books for this year and next. So they should be able to maximize their return on him.
I think he's still RFA after this deal. He's 26 and he has accrued 6 seasons when this deal expires. So he should still be RFA.
I swear I looked at the signing on CapFriendly and it said that his expiry status was UFA. So either CapFriendly made a mistake and fixed it, or I’m blind.
good dman 2yrs and 4m is fair he didn't have too much luck in st. louis since he didn't want to stay but a good bridge for the 2yrs to see if he can settle with seattle
