I like this trade for Avs and value is probably close. Not sure how much better it makes them but at least he likely won’t get suspended in the playoffs lol

You can’t attach conditions to picks around players signing extensions tho

I'll be honest I think the rangers trade hurts both teams. Strome really can't do much without Panarin and when he is with Panarin, he is elite. Kadri is good but I don't know how he will jam in with Panarin. Seems like a lose-lose trade for me

I think Kadri is a better fit for COL at 2C than Strome

Interesting take.. in the 9 games Bread missed over his leave of absence with the Russia nonsense, Strome tallied 9 points while the Rangers lost 5/9 games. So point per game pace isn’t elite when Bread isn’t there right? You think if bread was there it would have been 27 points in those 9 games? Pretty sure Stromes issues in the previous seasons had to do with playing time, coaching, system, position maybe.. maybe proper training routine and practice.. these would be a more accurate assessment rather than the 🔥 take of “Panarin makes him a hockey player”

The "strome relies on panarin" thing is so dumb.

"9 games" what a great sample size. I'm pretty sure Holl started his first 9 games with 8 points; I don't think he is elite. Its pretty obvious that Panarin hard carries Strome every time they play. You see it on the ice over his career and the advance stats show it too. If you look at the scoring logs for strome, its not that hard to see that Panarin is involved in almost every point

So how about the season before as a sample size. Only 9 of Stromes assists were on a panarin goal. Strome had the same amount of goals or it might have even been 1 less than the season before when he played without Panarin.

And of the 9, 7 were 1st assists so you could make an argument that he set Panarin up for those goals In What was also Panarins career high season

well at least Strome will actually play more games and not cost his team with undisciplined plays. I like the Avs and Kadri can be a great 2C, but he's a liability at this point. Might as well get something for him if he leaves in FA.

F that. Strome isn’t an upgrade over Kadri. The Avs have Newhook as the future 2C, and Ranta is a potential top 6 wing. Throw in The salary cap ramifications and that is an easy no.
