If Nashville can’t extend him they gotta seriously consider that

Yeah, NSH takes that.

I'm not that high on Holmstrom and the picks will be later in their respective rounds -- but that's still a very good offer.

Are you crazy? Its not enough to get gaudreau IMO but its a massive overpay for VT.

Gaudreau would technically be a full year rental but I agree it would probably take more. I if it was for Tarasenko I dont think I’d go more them Bellows and probably a second. Then maybe dangle Bailey for a defenseman to offset some of the salary.

Nashville’s such a hard team to read I have no idea if they’re still trying to win now or rebuild. I hate to keep on giving up 1st rd picks but we’re in win now mode so it might have to happen. Honestly I wanted Dunn from Sea I figured he would be much more cost effective, but with the new deal I don’t think that’s gonna happen

NSH needs to rebuild, but Poile only has so long left -- so I think they're doing a retool on the fly. It likely won't pay off -- but I think that's what they're going for. Getting younger, cheaper, and bigger. They have good NHL ready prospects and rookies ready to take the next step, so we'll see what they can do.

For what it's worth, I think Poile wants to re-sign Ekholm.

I always thought of Ekholm of a long shot anyway. A buddy of mine mentioned him so I was just spitballing to see what a team with him on it would look like. If I were Nashville I would definitely re-sign him especially after losing Ellis.

Fair point. Would you rather Tarasenko at a cheaper price tag, or just roll with Cizikas, Palmieri and our Rfa’s

Idk. I think if we get tarasenko @3.75 for bellows a 2nd and a 3rd (which IMO is fair) we could do a 7-13-21
18-29-tank 12-44-26 I think that makes the most sense. And if VT plays well we could move 21 to 3LW 12 to 2RW and VT to 1RW. But going into the season with VT as the 1RW is a situation I don't want to find myself in.
