What??? Lee is 31, signed for another 5x7 and coming directly off ACL surgery. Oh, and anyone who thinks he's "way better" than Tarasenko when both are fit is straight trippin'. I mean, really.

Tarasenko is also coming off 2 major surgeries and his stats haven’t been as good the past few years. Even if this was 2017 Tarasenko the Isles still aren’t trading him because he’s their captain and the glue that keeps the team together. We saw down the stretch last year how much they missed his scoring and leadership.

No, Lee is coming off surgery. Tarasenko's corrective surgery was already over a year ago and he played from March on. Not the same at all. And sure, when you don't play very much, stats tend to go down. Plus, Tarasenko actually performs in the playoffs. Lee does not.

This is one of those trades that makes sense for neither team. Lee is important to the Isles but not a contract any other team would want.

Lee's career playoff stats
35 gp
8 g (3 on PP)
8 a (3 on PP)
.98 p/60 at even strength
20 giveaways, 8 takeaways
84 hits, 86 hits taken

These rates are all waaaay off his regular season numbers. There's no getting around the fact that Lee is a major playoff disappoinment.

Both player can help the other team by their style of play, Lee fits in St Louis and Tarasenko would be a good fit for NYI.

Sanford and Mayfield less, would you 1v1? What would I need to add

Lee isnt going anywhere.
1. He has a full ntc and most probably wont waive.
2. We arent trading him period.
