The Blues probably would have gone for that before free agency. Now? Dunno.

STL unloads a player that wants out and has a bad shoulder for a that package, and doesn’t retain a dime or take on any salary in the process. It’s really not bad at all.

Arizona gets absolutely nothing in the deal and they are the ones that take on the most negative value

Also don't think the islanders can afford Reilly

Detroit does not now, nor ever, at any cost, want Dermott, Engvall or Kerfoot. It's one of these 3 in every ACGM and we have zero interest in any of them.

Why not? They might not give up a 4th, but I would give up a 5th for sure.

Abruzzese is one of our top prospects, could improve the pick I guess.

A first is a building block for the trade sure but it’s gonna cost more then just two low tier picks

I don't know how this makes the Leafs better...Reilly, Kerfoot, Mikeheyev, Engvall for Tarasenko, Vatanen and Bellows and the Leafs lose in the picks exchange.

    Why did you add Kerfoot?

He's a 22 year old who hasn't played professional hockey yet. Could pan out for sure but it's not a sure thing.
The thing with Arizona retaining salary is that is the last contract they can retain salary on this year and the fact its 3.75M for two years means the pay should be alot higher. It also doesn't allow them to retain on Kessel this year so making a trade with him would be more difficult as well, would have to compensate for that.
Also mikheyev is more of a cap dump than anything right now.

So let me get this straight… we are getting rid of our best defender for a top 6 forward that we DO NOT NEED. I’d keep Rielly. He is likely going to Re-sign. We don’t need even more cap wrapped up in forwards than we already have.

Ok but Toronto is the only team that wants him and then add in the 50% retention. That offer easily gets outbid.

I would easily say yes for NYI. I'd love Morgan Rielly.
