I think you ask for way less though for the players you want to move now. I don’t think Hextall/Burke are thinking long-term or end of Sid era. I feel like they are trying to win in next 2 years. I am not as plugged into Pittsburgh so I will defer to you on knowledge, just an outside feel. Jarry is awful lol.

Jarry isn't awful. In all honestly he has all the tools and I think he's going to be a very good goalie in this league. He's played the equivalent of a full NHL season and last year was his FIRST year as a starter in the playoffs. The Pens just don't have the luxury of time to wait on him finding his game.

As far as your first comment, being a Pens fan and keeping close attention on everything Hextall and Burke have stated, the Pens are absolutely preparing for the long-term. Hextall has made it clear he's not continuing to trade the Pens quality futures, i.e. 1st/2nds and top prospects. He's been very specific.

That said, they are trying to win while Sid is still playing, but they're just not being aggressive about it. The Rutherford days have gone bye bye.

All the AGMs trying to make comical robbery offers for Tarasenko before sticking him on the top line: But but but he's brooooken and they have no leverage!

He hasn’t been that guy since 2019. Eichel was that guy in 2020. Tarasenko also openly wants out. StL has no leverage. Seattle wouldn’t take him. I feel like an expiring and a 3rd is the best you can get.

I mean honestly Armstrong would be better off keeping Taresenko and moving him at the deadline rather than eating 3.75M for 2 years and taking Komorov. Just makes zero sense from the Blues perspective. I mean what is Vlad gonna do? Go to Russia? As much as you think the Blues don’t have leverage, Tarasenko has less

What leverage do they have?

Well, for starters, he's their player and apparently multiple teams in the league want him. So there's definitely all that. Plus, they can simply keep him for now and let him inflate his value. So there's that, too.

But you know who has absolute zero in leverage? Any team(s) trying to make the Blues pay out the nose to trade him. Like say expecting them to give up Tarasenko (who is healthy, extremely motivated and working his tail off this summer), eat 7.5M retention, plus eating Leo's 3M and all they get in return is a 3rd. And if that wasn;t bad enough, somehow the Blues also need to throw in a 6th to balance it! This is without a doubt the worst Vova offer of many horrible ones that I've seen on CF. Sorry, bro, it's true. Not sure how you don't see it. You haven't even begun to pay for the retention alone.
