If John Carlson is the more "defensively responsible" guy one his D pair, something has gone horribly wrong. I don’t think those two would work well together at all, and paying Morgan Reilly 8.5mil is a massive mistake imo. Reilly brings so much value as an offensive play driver, but he takes so much of that value away with his horrific defensive play. He's not a number 1, and shouldn't be paid like one

Rielly is better defensively than he is given credit for, am I saying he is a number 1 no but if nurse just got paid 9.25 Rielly is 100% worth 8.5

I'd argue he doesn't get enough **** for how bad he is. Back in the Jake Gardiner era he got a pass because Gardiner was way more prone to highlight reel eff ups, but Gardiner was actually WAY better defensively and it wasn't even close.

It’s more likely that the pairs would be Orlov-Carlson and Rielly-Jensen in this situation. I should’ve swapped them but I didn’t think about it when making the team.
