Buffalo says no. Asplund has more upside and is a better player already

Asplund is 23, Kerfoot is 27 - he wasnt even in the NHL at 23

Why would age matter? He's saying Asplund is better right now. Asplund has lesser results and none of the special team perks Kerfoot has.

Hell, even if we ignore the fact you didn't even take a second to look at the context of what you were replying to, odds are very much against a 23 year old who is basically making a replacement level impact turning into anything more than a replacement level player.

Love advanced stats out of context. Asplund had 11 points... in 24 games, not 56, both were on pace for 33 point seasons over 82, Asplund was scoring more goals, Asplund has far less NHL experience than Kerfoot who was playing for a much better team

*Looks at *AR fluctuating season over season* *thinks it predicts the future instead of just showing how a season went for a player* *rejects basic stats that do that same thing* *refuse to elaborate further*

The point you somehow managed to miss is that no one has used an advanced stat in here. The only stat anyone has posted is the points he's scored. I should have stopped expecting the most basic of understandings from you after you managed to ignore the entire context of the first posts you responded to.

replacement level is an advanced stat. You were talking about Asplund's replacement level. You used advanced stats. Its also pathetic that you immediately inferred that I'm the idiot when youre straight up wrong, about literally everything to this point, but specifically the aforementioned exchange.

Most fans do not know how to present their case (including me).
Asplund - Mittelstadt - Thompson looked really good the last dozen games last year.
Kerfoot is paid about 4 times of Asplund's salary.
Asplund literally exploded last season as he was always projected as a solid checking mid six forward.
I think Buffalo would say no for those reasons, not that Kerfoot for Asplund is an unfair trade.

'replacement level' isnt a stat. Its a descriptor of the impact hes had. You won't find any advanced stat pages with a players 'replacement level' listed. The stat you are looking for would be wins above replacement, or WAR, which hasn't been used at all here. The only stats anyone has talked about is points and goals, the most basic of stats available. I've inferred you're an idiot because well, you should probably see why now but I have a feeling expecting that is too much.
