Cizikas already has a deal in place with the Isles for way more money and term.

Its pretty common around here for Montréal guys to trade Kulak, why? Especially for nothing. Hes got really good numbers, signed for peanuts and your d-core isnt terrifying as it is. I dont think Demers is better than Kulak at all.

He doesn't fit the system anymore, With Romanov already there and Norlinder(Rumored) coming up Montreal does't need to focus on the LHD anymore. Where as they need RHD. The almost 2 mil also helps to try and find solid 3C for the team. I could see them going for Vatanen as he's been a pretty mobile D in his career, and he probably doesn't take more then Kulak makes now.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Norlinder slots in on the right side.
Personally, I wouldn’t touch Edmundson - Petry, if at all possible. Savard, imo, is an ideal partner for Romanov. Chiarot could play the left side on our other pair, his strong side, to be the steady presence allowing someone like Norlinder to use his creativity. And you can always mix and match when the situation calls for it. Like sliding Chiarot up with Savard in shot blocking situations.

The Kulak conversation pretty much begins and ends with him likely being more useful to another team than he is to us, at a time where we’re able to sign « depth » players like Perry, Perrault, Pacquette, and Wideman for under $1mm, we can find more efficient use of that cap space elsewhere. I agree that he’s a good player though. 100% cap related, he’s not likely signing another deal here beyond this year. Wouldn’t surprised me if Seattle took him. Maybe he gets moved alongside a 2nd round draft pick for Lauzon? Could also be flipped at the deadline to net them an additional pick.

There’s definitely a price where either Vatanen or Demers could be a Hab right now though if they wanted.

I doubt Seattle takes on another D, they stacked themselves with D at the expansion, but there's easily a team out there who could use Kulak in 70% of the games in a season rather then Montreal using him in 20% of their games

I could easily see Chiarot being on RH side if they don't add a true RHD

I could see Seattle moving multiple D before the start of camp, likely they already got offered pretty good value for someone like Dunn. It’s true though, the acquiring team could be anyone.

Yeah. Bozak is 35, and he’s still a good player offensively and had a 56% last year on face offs, so hopefully we can land him.
