Habs do this if not in the playoff picture. I don't even know who Maksimov is.

Koskinen is terrible, but Detroit takes that in a heartbeat. Honestly, you're way overpaying us in this trade...

I'd do it for the picks, but I'm more critical of Chiarot than most. I think he gets more credit than he deserves.
Unfortunately, management likes mediocre defenders who can play "tough". So he'll probably get an extension.

None of those deals makes a significant difference for the Oilers.

Come playoffs:
-It's Smith's net. Giving up a 1st for someone whose gonna sit on the bench doesn't make any sense.
-I would rather have Kassian than Kessel.
-Russel is a fine 3rd pairing guy.

So giving up a 1st, 2 2nd's and a 4th for pretty much very minimal improvement.

I like him, but if Habs are out of it at the deadline, its good business to sell him and then just sign him again as UFA. Montreal's issue isn't Chiarot type players, their issue is their lack of PMD to pair with those defensemen. Toronto has Muzzin as a comparable, and its amazing how their team falls apart without him, and they have nobody like him in the system. I am comfortable with Edmundson and Savard as that style going forward, but i do like Chiarot too.

Detroit takes that and runs, I'll even send Stetcher with for extra D depth. Hell for that price you can have Namestnikov too lol

Detroit DECLINES... Yzerman says it will also cost a 2nd along with the 1st for Greiss as well... Holland is so dumb he agrees that "that is what it costs"

For the past 2 seasons:

Koskinen: .910
Greiss: .912

At the beginning of this past season Smith was injured and Holland screwed up the backup situation repeatedly, and it meant the that Koskinen had to play every game of a wicked schedule - 12 games in 24 nights traveling thousands of miles through 4 timezones - which isn't something ANY goalie can stand up under. It wasn't fair to Koskinen but Tippett had little choice but to keep throwing him over the boards, so his results were poor over that stretch. I don't fault Koskinen for that, he did his best in an impossible situation.

If you look at his last 2 seasons combined without those 12 games to get a look at how he performs under normal circumstances, his save percentage is .916.

Yeah, no. At this point it appears that there's no reason for the Oilers to do a Greiss-Koskinen swap at the deadline, let alone add a 1st round pick.

I like Greiss, but I feel the first rounder is with more, try the same thing for a little bit younger goalie, like 25-28 range. Looks great though
