Sabres pass

I think that's the best Sabers could hope for IMO. Sadly the Sabers used up their chances at the primo options now that most teams are set for the upcoming year.
their hope now is this offer.. or that Eichel agrees to play this year get's healthy and trade deadline a team offers their cupboard to get him with some retention.

It isnt the value its the pieces, they make no sense. I wish people would take one second to see what the team needs are. they have 9 Dmen under the age of 24, 3 in the NHL and 2 are sure fire NHLers, and they have 2 A+ goalie prospects one that they just traded Reinhart for. Were not asking for more, were asking it to make sense. We've been saying this for months but people keep acting like we want more picks and prospects. Just add forward prospects, thats what Buffalo needs, and thats what Buffalo is going to trade their franchise center for

that a legitimate argument, Chytl is a Legit future top 6 C Gergiev fills a right now need and allows both prospects time to grow so you don't bring them up to quick and risk destroying their development, and is a nice piece to trade off at the deadline if he plays well. Schneider your right isn't a need so I would venture offering Gauthier in his place. as I think Kravlsov is untouchable.
I am not a NY ranger fan though so I'm not as knowledgeable. I also think Strome would be added to offset cap space issues.

The Sabres signed Anderson to mentor UPL, Dell will be in the AHL if not from the start, at some point in the season. Theyre putting all the chips in on UPL, but have Levi and Portillo coming up in 3-4 years as well (Both are in college)

ehhhh but he's still very young and he wasn't impressive or even serviceable in his 14 AHL starts or his 4 NHL starts last year. If I was GM id give him a shot to be backup but I'd want a guy Like Georgiev this year and Anderson backing him up see what he has, he could end up being a top 10 starter, or a fill in till one of the young guys take the next big step, and you guys have a better team around to support him. better to get the young guys ready and confident than destroy their confidence playing them to young on a bad team (sorry this is a compete for the first overall draft pick team not the 8th seed). Dell is filler at best as a sharks fan I know that!

They're tanking, so if they feel he's better suited in the A they'll just start Dell and rack up the L's

true, but if I was a GM I would rather get a few younger pieces and maybe they preform well and you flip them for more and maybe they stink and who cares your real talent is coming soon.

I think you're going to be very disappointed if you think they're going to trade Jack for team needs. They're going to take the offer which presents the best prospects and players. Not the types of player types that they're lacking in the system. Thats the type of mistake that gets a GM fired
