I know everyone is hard on Marner right now. But by mid season when he is top 4 in points and the Leafs are contending they will be happy again. ACGM's will be made where Leaf fans on here are denying every trade involving Marner. We see it every season. I can't promise the Leafs making playoffs or into the next round. But Marner will perform well in the regular season. The fact remains that he is an elite playmaker. Leafs ran into an outstanding Carey Price this year. If you re-watch the goals we scored on him, most were all fluke goals off a skate/stick deflection etc. Matthews and Marner against a normal goaltender would have had great 1st round playoff performances. Tis the way she goes sometimes.

Red hot is an interesting statement. Watch his goals again. Two deflections. Goals where others are doing the work in front of the net and he gets the juicy rebound. Another on a juicy feed from Kerfoot. Nylander has high hockey IQ. But these stats that say he is a great net front presence are insane.

Crouse, don't know why you say he is good on the PP. Has never done so far in his NHL career. Last season, 0 goals and 2 assists on the PP. But of course he is big, so the conclusion has to be he is good on the PP.
