I think both of those packages are too rich, especially considering no retention on Kap.

And you might as well do the same for Fiala to be completely honest.

Kap dosent have a contract atm, so there’s no way we could retain on it. If it was a sign and trade with retention that would not make sense at all. Rangers have about 8M in cap space this year left, I could see Kap going 4 years x 8M with them

Sign him to his 3 year deal and retain half. It sounds like his agent is drawing a line in the sand unless he gets a Panarin sized offer right now.

Sign him to his bridge and retain half. He wants to go to UFA, so why not help him and turn a 5th round pick into a bunch of 1sts?

The return on that would have to be MASSIVE if the wild are retaining half of the contract + giving up the best player in that deal. The return would be more than what Buf wants for eichel.

I’m not sold on that given it will cost him on his big contract. Also, 1B rubles sounds cheap but I don’t know the exchange rate. 😎

Ok, I’m gonna start using Dr Evil memes when talking about that contract now. This is great.

If you move fast and retain half, there is every expectation that it could get more than Eichel but I’d do it for a 1st, a top prospect, and some other pieces like a couple 2nds or a decent NHLer.

If you’re decisive, you can get a decent return quick. Which is better than risking it for the maximum return. It’s why Jones went for 2 1sts, a 2nd, and a likely top pairing d man. CBJ said they were going to move him, got their offers and then moved him. Eichel might not get that because the situation has been completely mishandled.

Kings can't even afford Krill this season, so that option is DOA.

If LA wasn't willing to trade Byfield for Eichel, they're not going to trade Byfield for Kaprizov.

I don't think the Kings or Rangers would trade Byfield/Laf for Kaprizov in a 1 for 1 deal, let alone add picks.
