Losing Tanev in the expansion draft was bad. I wish Zucker was selected. If there is another player that can play like and be better than Tanev, the Penguins should consider that direction.

I think the Penguins' scoring struggled without the presence of a player near the net like Hornqvist. Who do the Penguins have that can be the next Hornqvist?

They should have kept Hornqvist or go after Miles Wood, Josh Anderson, etc. Mike Sullivan likes 5'9" players that fall and get pushed around-- hence why we brought back Rodrigues and Simon.

I think Hextall could have convinced Francis to take Zucker. The question is what was the convincing price he would be comfortable doing?? Legare and an early pick??

I do not know what happened to Simon during his one season with Calgary. I hope he does not go the way of Conor Sheary.

Rodrigues is a hot/cold situation. He has played well enough to remain with the Penguins. He needs to take his game to a higher level, produce more, and demonstrate why he is a real deal.

The Penguins could use someone to prevent the team from being pushed around.

The Penguins have to find ways to stay within the salary cap, reload and improve, and compete. Lacking larger, physical players with skill has been an issue.

I do wish that the Penguins could have kept Hornqvist, but the Penguins didn't exactly struggle to score until the postseason. According to hockey-reference.com, they were 2nd in goals for in 2020-21. Hornqvist was a tough loss, but ultimately there is an argument to be made that the 2021 Pens were the best lineup they had since their back to back cups. I'm just hoping their window isn't closed just yet.
