Im fine with Zucker getting moved but you should really keep Pettersson and you have the cap for it. That blueline is much weaker now and also Pettersson is at a decent age. he doesn't really fit the timeline for Arizona. He wants to win now. Make that 2nd a 1st and maybe throw in a guy like Poulin aswell.

Islanders don’t want him. He’s a depth piece that wouldn’t see a minute even if 4 defenseman got hurt.

Bruh are you high? Why would the Pens add even more here if Pettersson is good? Additionally, Zucker alone is worth more than the pieces coming into PIT in this scenario.

Not to mention Kessel even at 50% retention has negative value, Fischer is a depth forward and Lyubushkin is nothing more than a 5th D.

I just don't think that AZ trade balances right for AZ.

1) They want futures right now, so for them to move and retain I'd think it will take more than a 2nd.

2) With Chychrun and Ghost on the left side, I don't think Pettersson makes much sense.

3) Zucker, while I think gets crapped on a lot, is far better than people give him credit for, but he doesn't seem like incentive enough to make a move like that.

If it had to be re-worked...

TO AZ: Zucker, Legare, 2nd
TO PIT: Kessel at closer to around 30% retained

That's just how I see it being more realistic.

EDIT: This all said, Hextall isn't making moves like this. He has been very open to the media about the fact that he's not moving 1st or 2nd round picks and won't move prospects unless it's a crazy good deal.

How is Kessel negative value? He's coming off a very strong season and is a UFA, so the Pens are free and clear after this year. I'm a fan of Zucker, but he's not a great value for the Pens right now. I think this trade is off-balance in a number of ways, but Kessel at negative value? No way, sir.

I don’t think he has value to the pens. But to other teams at 50% retained, absolutely has value. I think the pens would be better off just keeping Zucker until next offseason at this point and hope he continues to gel with Carter so his value increases.

Because of Pettersson not getting moved they need to give up more. Kessel still got some gas left so with 50% retained he should not have minus value. I don't have anything against Zucker but he isn't really worth that much. No way he would ever give you a 1st even from a team like Colorado or Tampa
