Description

I’m happy with the Pionk signing. Money still appears too tight to get Copp signed under the cap. Best case scenario now might be a sign and trade.

I really like the way the Jets Defence is shaping up. Bottom 6 might be slightly weaker but, on balance, this is a better team.

I’m not sold on Comrie as backup. There are teams carrying three goalies that Jets might pounce on waivers.

Three players on the taxi squad deserve their 9 games in the NHL to test their readiness.

Chevvy should sign Dubnyk as the backup. SHouldnt cost that much and he's a proven G in this league. Comrie, although a very nice guy, hasnt shown he can handle 10-15 games

I wonder if it kind of coincides with Jets going younger, and changing a bunch of cap hits at that point, he may want to try and double dip also, and possibly go closer to home. Will be interesting two years before decision on scheifele and possibly Wheeler retirement.

It would be cool to see tanev back from Seattle, but that cap hit definitely doesn’t fit, Blackwell would be interesting showed some good things in ny. Appleton looking for ice and blossoming good add by Seattle, not sure if he wants back for 3rd line minutes. Another one to look at would be geekie and Manitoba roots kind of similar to Blackwell in experience and contract

Maybe. I think he's ready for NHL games, but I guess the issue would be the roster spot so the jets dont lose Comrie to waivers? With Dubnyk you get a proven G and a guy, heaven forbid, who can step in if Bucky goes down. I guess it comes down to Copp and his contract. or the jets move Beaulieu for some space

I was hoping they'd go longer with Pionk, he's worth it and have heard he likes playing in Winnipeg, he's young enough to go at least six years with, not sure what that would've bumped his AAV up to though.

It seems as though there is a definite tier for dmen.
Guys like Jones, Werenski, Hamilton, Nurse all got big time cash for term
Guys like Pionk and Pelech were clearly a tier below and teams were happy to get them at the cap hit they go
