Trade Beaulieu, then use Niku or sign a 750k dman to be the 7th D. then bring Toninato as your spare forward and you can sign Copp to a max of $4.35ish

Little's LTIR lasts only 3 years and ends at completion of 2023-2024 season. At this time Perfetti requires a new contract and Wheeler and Scheifele's Contract expire. So Copp today could sign long term of 5-7 years. Maximum money available to sign Copp is about $4.6 mill today under Little's LTIR leaving zero cap space.

Better to sign him before arbitration for 3 years rather than wait for Arbitrator's 1 year. I haven't looked at year 2024-2025 season yet so don't know if cap space available to continue paying Copp without Little' LTIR, so a Copp trade may still happen during this contract he signs for 3 years.

I'm curious how Little's LTIR affects this?

I made a correction to my post on length of term changing 3 years to any longer term chosen. Little is on LTIR from Jan 13, 2021 till his contract expires on September 14, 2024. He can only come off if he shows
the Jets a Doctor's report saying he can play again. Little's LTIR allows his salary of $5.291mil to reduce their high cap space down to the league cap space of $81.5.
