Detroit does not now, nor ever, at any cost, want Dermott, Engvall or Kerfoot. It's one of these 3 in every ACGM and we have zero interest in any of them.

If Leafs fans think Marner is overpaid for his numbers next to Matthews, how do you think Preds fans will feel when he's stuck next to Duchene and has 25 less points per year? NSH declines.

so rielly=forsberg, relativly close in both production and defensive ability,
ilya=sissons both play an almost identical role and produce at the same rate.

Which means for you marner=dante, kunin, 2nd round pick.

now friend, i know you aint out here thinking marner is worth that now do ya?

Hey leafs fan here, marner is not overpayed by any stretch of the imagination, hes incredible on both sides of the ice, carries a ton of energy, and can turn anyone into a 30 goal scorer with his abilities. He just had a bad playoffs and people are dumb,
frankly if nashville declined that the gm should be fired.

I don't know I'd take Dermott for a 6th, a 7th or better yet future considerations.

I just absolutely hate his game, reminds me of Brett Lebda... Quick, has some natural skill, but has his head in the clouds and shows some abysmal decision making...

I get that it's hard to compare defensemen to forwards, but how are Rielly and Forsberg close to equal? Team need aside (Rielly makes no sense for NSH, as they already have two LD better than Rielly), how are they close in either production or defensive ability?

well they put up about the same amount of points, with the exception of riellys injury riddled season 2 years ago, over the last 4 years they have been pretty equal in points
rielly 159 points in 213 games
.74 ppg
forsberg 144 points in 188 games.
.76 ppg
Id say those numbers are close enough to say they are about equal in production.

i didnt include any of the numbers from 2019-2020years numbers because frankly rielly was injured the whole bloody season and played with a hurt wrist and sprained ankle.

They have been about equal in defense over that time, neither being exactly top 10 in defensive stats, with both improving over the last 4 season defensivly. Now im sure you will take this and quickly forget about it because "oh a leafs player being as good as some other player thats total horse****, overrated garbage" Like 90% of all people on here but i hope you will genuinly observe and really think about why 1 might consider them pretty equal.

Also just for reference, while i know he plays a different role to say ekholm is better than rielly is kinda disingenuous, they play different roles

Ekholms production is far far worse then rielly, but i assume hes far better defensivly frankly im unsure of his defensive abilities.
Ekholm 134 points in 277 games
0.48 ppg

rielly is 196 points in 253 games
or 0.77 ppg

62 less points in 24 more games roughly 46% more points in 24 less games.

i mean im sure ekholm is fantastic defensivly but with the exception of the injury filled covid shutdown season, Morgan Rielly has been elite offensivly. And since the injuries he has really pushed to be better defensivly and it showed this year.

oh yes 1 final point right

rielly is 196 points in 253 games
or 0.77 ppg

roman josi is 207 points in 274 games
or 0.75ppg

both over the last 4 seasons of play. When it comes to putting the puck into the net or causeing it to happen rielly, is as good as josi, and way better than ekholm.
Defensivly hes worse than both thats not really up for debate i dont imagine, unless someone is about to tell me both Ekholm and Josi are not good at defense anyway.

Kunin is a career -19 player on 2 defensively structured teams. Don't remember either guy when they've played the leafs in the past. Fabbro seems like a # 4 type d-man but I'm just guessing. So if l were correct on my evaluation, the leafs would need 3 first rounders as well. Don't know who your team is but Marner is top 3 best 2 way player in the league and finished 4th in scoring. Fastest player in league history to reach 200 assists. If he played the last regular season game last year he would have lead the league in ice time for forwards 2 years in a row. For what Marner is worth to the leafs no team would give up what they want.
