He (potentially) abused his wife, (potentially) bet on the game and according to Kurz-most of the Sharks want him off the team or they want to go. That's pretty bad and not too many NHL drama's get this bad. Kane is a disease, he needs a year or two off to re-think his life and figure things out. Be real dude.

That's two potentials. If the investigation finds that Kane didn't bet on games, then that goes against his wife's claim and so her other claims that he left his baby without paying for their milk etc. holds much less credence. That would make him tradeable. No reason for other teams to not want him, he just wouldn't be wanted in SJ if what Kurz and others have said regarding teammates wanting him gone is true.

I think you're confused. If I was in charge Kane would be fired into the sun, but instead, the NHL is mostly made up of GMs and owners who don't give a damn about anything but results on the ice. There are more than enough lessons in realness you could find for yourself. I know the cynicism is a sad fact, but it is a fact. Wish it wasn't so, but it is so... etc

I've backed Kaner for years, but his conduct as of late has become a bridge too far no matter what the verdict turns out to be.

Kane will be traded before the szn starts. He will give his new team two solid years before he burns another bridge, after which he will be traded again starting the cycle over. He has never not produced goals no matter where he's gone, thereby proving his value, drama or not.

GMs and owners DO NOT CARE ABOUT FEELINGS. Player feelings, coach feelings, fan feelings... they don't care as long as they can win hockey games. They are billionaires employing employees, not people.

If I were to speak in pure statistics, I would take that trade. But with his attitude and cancerous nature, I hang up the phone unless SJS is willing to pay a 1st rounder or 2 on top with 50% retention. I might consider it then.

There's never going to be a 1st and/or retention. That is pure fantasy for the NHL21 crowd.

Agreed. I just don't necessarily 100% agree that things aren't mendable -- especially If the investigation comes out in Kane's favor. If that's the case, I still agree that he's most likely traded (especially not having that baggage on his shoulder be nearly as heavy) but I think there's a small chance that he comes back and DW tells the guys who don't want him back to do their job and worry only about what they can control and to do their best at it.

Your mouth to Gawd's ears... I want nothing more than for Kane to rehab his life, to reconcile with his family and teammates, and to commit to recovery. But he is so bluntly unconcerned with anything related to a renaissance that I just can't see it happening. I feel like DW took the "suck it up and play to win" approach with the crew already, but he may have reached the point of diminishing returns.

Sheng just put out an article that not a single team would want Kane for free, he isn't moving.

Right, which is why he's traded with a higher pick for a player with a lower ceiling and a lower pick.

All due respect to Sheng, but maybe don't believe the hype. Plenty of sources attached to the interests of other teams would be happy to create a narrative where Kane's value is lower than it really is. Sheng's just doing his job as an unbiased reporter. Also, if he is exonerated Kane's value will automatically increase.

Also a player with a lower cap hit that comes off the books next year where they’ll need that cap space for guys like Necas Troch and Bear. Nino was on a 25 goal + pace last year so I’ll take his slightly lower ceiling with his contract rather than betting on Kane not being a cancer and blowing the room up when their are other upgrade options available.

Canes already brought tda in. That’s enough to test their locker room. You don’t want two cancerous personalities in a single locker room.

Sorry but I just don't see a scenario where Kane is tradeable without losing assets (cap, prospects or picks) in the process which I do not see Doug doing.
