If Devils were looking to add a center, this seems like pretty legit offer. But with Hischier and Hughes, I don’t know that they would be talking about Eichel. Still have other needs to fill and will likely address next off-season.

Yeah, not super likely that this would happen, but seems like they kinda want to push for a playoff spot this season with some of the other signings

Yeah...but seems like they kinda want to push for a playoff spot..
Zacha will not make anyone forget about Jack, but at 24 he would be a decent plug in.
I would think the Sabres would want a RW prospect.
Jack for Zacha, Stillman, 2022 first and 2022 second.
Without any retention I think this is a good deal and equal to about 4 first round picks.
Zacha is still an RFA at the end of the season so the Sabres may be able to keep him or move him as they did Reinhart.

So replace Kuokkanen, Studenic, 2023 1st for Stillman and 2022 2nd?
That would be even better for NJD.

I am not a GM nor would pretend to be one, but yes that is better for Buffalo.
Both picks are this year, so they do not have to wait to add to the prospects.
Stillman is a RW and Buffalo has Tage Thompson as the only NHL RW.
They drafted 3 in the past two year, Quinn, Peterka and Rosen.
I think Peterka is the best of the lot, but many Sabre fans think Quinn is ready for next season.
You know your prospects better than I but Kuokkanen and Studenic IMO do not help the Sabres.
The alternative would be Zacha, Stillman, 2022 first and 2023 first which IMO would be too much.
Maybe the Devils would need to add, but not much more than 2023 second.

EDIT:
When I look at an Eichel trade:
Needs first, RW, RHD, C, LW, GK in that order IMO
Then vintage, if Buffalo need to wait 3 years for a draft pick, is nearly an immediate rejection.
Value third.
Of course value is important but needs and vintage require more consideration IMO.

That makes some sense.
Kuokkanen has far more value than Stillman though...he was a top-6 player on Hughes line for most of the year and is very versatile.

We are pretty deep in RW prospects

1. Alexander Holtz (top pick last year, sniper)
2. Dawson Mercer (great two-way player, likely plays center in NHL)
3. Arseni Gritsyuk (Off-wing, smaller russian skilled guy, tough off boards)
4. Graeme Clarke (a favorite of our GM, great shot, can play center, Brant's brother)
5. Tyce Thomspon (another C/RW, smaller, more playmaking version of brother Tage)
6. Studenic
7. Zetterlund
8. Moynihan

Agree with you about Peterka.
