So replace Kuokkanen, Studenic, 2023 1st for Stillman and 2022 2nd?
That would be even better for NJD.
I am not a GM nor would pretend to be one, but yes that is better for Buffalo.
Both picks are this year, so they do not have to wait to add to the prospects.
Stillman is a RW and Buffalo has Tage Thompson as the only NHL RW.
They drafted 3 in the past two year, Quinn, Peterka and Rosen.
I think Peterka is the best of the lot, but many Sabre fans think Quinn is ready for next season.
You know your prospects better than I but Kuokkanen and Studenic IMO do not help the Sabres.
The alternative would be Zacha, Stillman, 2022 first and 2023 first which IMO would be too much.
Maybe the Devils would need to add, but not much more than 2023 second.
EDIT:
When I look at an Eichel trade:
Needs first, RW, RHD, C, LW, GK in that order IMO
Then vintage, if Buffalo need to wait 3 years for a draft pick, is nearly an immediate rejection.
Value third.
Of course value is important but needs and vintage require more consideration IMO.
