Just Yamo left for opening night completeness

Initial Creation Date: Aug. 12, 2021
Published: Aug. 12, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Yeah the goaltending setup is not ideal, but I think there could be more chances at movement in season. Also, regular season this tandem was top 1/3 of the league last season - I'd just hope to bring in someone over Koskinen for the postseason. But waiting is fine.

I'm really excited to see this Oilers team play. That top 6 forward group is absolutely insane, but the defense is the exact opposite. With the defense being so weak, much of the season's success will likely depend on if Mike Smith has another great season, or regresses horribly due to age. Reminds me of the 2020 Leafs, you even have a few of them.

Agree about the 2020 Leafs comparison, similar strengths, issues and question marks. Personally I think the forwards have improved more than the defense may have regressed from last season, if it really has at all when they hot the ice. Keith trade was silly as a transaction, but as a player, Keith is still better than Jones. Larsson out for Ceci is likely a downgrade, but if Ceci plays like he did in Pit, should be fine for 19 mins a game. Question is how good Bouchard will be next season, as he definitely has the ability to be as good as Bear was right away, if not even better by Christmas. But not a given. The goalies could go any which way, the thing I hope Kenny keeps looking to improve all season at an opportune time.
