I'll go with depends. Ekholm is better but on the last year of his deal and the ufa dman market is ridiculous. If Sanheim signs 4x4 ish deal I think Nashville might be persuaded.

Are Ristolainen and Ekholm one and done players or is Philly ready to pay 7+ and 6+ by 6 years for each???

I wouldn’t do this if I’m PHI. Sanheim is younger. Ekholm who is better now, is in the final year of his deal, is gonna want a raise. Are u willing to pay a 32 year old dman 5-6M for a few years until he’s in his mid thirties and not as good as he is now? Or would you want a 24 year old dman who you could lockup for his prime years, and simply have him for longer in his prime and in general.

that depends on a very huge factor, is the 24 year old dman good? Yeah you can have a younger dman who you can lock up in his prime, but if he isnt any good or continues to regress Y-o-Y, then I'd rather Ekholm. remains to be seen what Sanheim can do, he has been someone who flashes the skill but has also been wildy inconsistent. If we're in win now mode now, which clearly I think Fletch is, I would do it.

Sanheim-Risto is going to be a terrible pairing where as Ekholm-Risto would be solid. If Ekholm takes a similar deal to Muzzin than why not

Sanheim had a down year but can bounce back. He’s only 24 and has showed he can be a good defenceman
