Doubt MTL takes that and even if they do it seems like a weird trade for the Devils to make. Is the strategy for us to just collect 1st round picks and young LD forever?

Thats a disgusting trade.... Romanov alone is worth more than Subban...

Romanov for Zacha is probably close to par.
Drouin plus 3rd for Subban at 50% sounds close too.

I think drop the 1st to later pick

Drouin was leading the habs in assits before he went down. Moreover, he finish the season with roughly the same points with far less games played as Saad, Laine and Puljarvi (who is playing on the same line with McDavid)...

Drouin is a very good player. He is just not a goalscorer. what he is a playmaker. If you as a fan accept that, than you see how valuable he is.
Put him with Caufield or Hoffman full time equals goals. Toffoli had 20 pts in 23 games playing with Drouin.

Zacha is 24 and finally had a decent season. Romanov is 21and full of potential. Drouin is worth than Subban. One is 2nd line winger and the other is a #5 d man on an expiring deal.
