our third pair is filled with upside.. liljigrenn gets a defensive minded partner that likes to hit. kampf is in his best spot which is being a defensive center. thomas and ritchie could probably have chemistry. reuniting mitchie and dvorak. giving all the chances to sandin to become our best D while still having a decent defense

Good acquisitions on offense. Rielly for Thomas is an interesting trade. But the defense has three players with limited NHL experience, which is a weakness.

Buffalo definitely tells you to kick rocks before trading Samuelsson for that especially.

santini has the experience if ever liljigrenn needs a night off to re focus on hsi game. honestly i really really like this team.. i think the blues is probably the best fit for rielly and kerfoot. they both fit in extremly well

Samuelsson is a Good Young player with a ton of upside. Dermott is a known third pairing bum, that’s basically who he is. If he were that good you wouldn’t be so interested in getting rid of him. Pass.

its not that hes not good. i just rather have a defensive minded guy paired with liljigrenn instead. and calling dermott a bum shows how little you know about hockey

No, I’ve just watched him play enough to know I don’t want anything to do with him. Buffalo has enough offensive minded defensemen anyway. Much like every Toronto fan trying to dump Engvall off on Buffalo, trying to justify asking for a third round pick in return for a guy they’ll sooner waive because he’s just a fourth line plug who takes stupid penalties. Regardless, Dermott is not the kind of defenseman buffalo should be looking for, especially not for a young talent like Samuelsson.

I think it is great that a fan of the Leaf's also noticed how comfortable Samuelsson looked in his brief stint with Buffalo.
Maybe in a time that the Sabres had more defensive D-men, but I agree the Sabres would pass.

I’m not trading a future star in Thomas for a rental defensemen who will most likely not resign with your team in Rielly
