Overload for 1 year

Created by: Hale86
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 12, 2021
Published: Aug. 12, 2021
Team: 2021-22 Calgary Flames
Team Explanation
2 crazy trades based on A) crazy GM in Pitt who prefers size > skill and B) Cgy giving nothing but futures for Eichel, then putting him on LTIR and using extra space. Also complete out of left field trade for Rielly who is available for reasons?

Not realistic at all but would have a decent team comparable to recent years should be in contention in weak Pacific. Then set to make a deal at trade deadline & bring Eichel back later in the year/start of playoffs and push themselves over the top as a true contender. Pushing all chips in by losing 3 of last 4 1st round picks & all picks next year, but worth it to actually go for it in wide open division.

Trades
1.
CGY
  1. Carter, Jeff
PIT
  1. Lucic, Milan
Additional Details:
because I wouldn't put it past Burke to overvalue character in today's game. Flames like Lucic's rebound but if Pitt comes calling with a decent offer would not be a stretch to see this happen
2.
CGY
  1. Eichel, Jack
BUF
  1. Zary, Connor
  2. Pelletier, Jakob
  3. 2022 1st round pick (CGY)
  4. 2022 2nd round pick (CGY)
  5. 2022 2nd round pick (FLA)
3.
CGY
  1. Rielly, Morgan
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
not likely but swapping 2 top trade chips who are apparently on way out of both teams. Adds young/cheap d depth for Toronto to control & another 30 goal forward to push over the top, Cgy gets a little assets back and actually improves defense from last year.
TOR
  1. Kylington, Oliver
  2. Monahan, Sean ($875,000 retained)
Additional Details:
eat salary to balance for Toronto to take on this deal.

Right? Noooooo way Hextall does that deal. The man is pretty damn smart. That Philly roster is a lot of his work.

Good think Hextall is gm and not Burke. Y’all really need to stop with this Burke loves all these cap dumps that have no redeeming value outside of hitting. They aren’t going that route. They were interested in Tkachuk, as is everyone else. Not lucic. You can keep your garbage. Hextall loves Carter.

He doesnt need to be in charge to have a say. Hextall obviously is the one calling the shots but they wouldnt have brought in Burke if they didnt want to hear his hockey opinions.

Nothing the Pens have done under Hextall shows that they value size over skill. This garbage narrative on here is annoying as hell.
