Oof. Tough trade. Boeser and Marner will have the same job in Vancouver, and it's hard to say who does it better. No, I don't want your ranting. Both will be on Petey's wing, PP1, and tasked with scoring goals, not giving up poccession, and being able to play without the puck. Boeser has been doing very good at his job, and yes, i agree, Marner might be a bit better. But that isnt really what the Canucks need. Boeser does his job fine. And is it worth an extra 5M in cap space? Yes, Boeser might be getting 8M next year, still not Marner money. Moreover, Boeser is younger and we will have his management rights longer. Kerfoot isn't nearly as good as Miller, but the point is we are getting a player who can play wing and center cheaper than Miller. However, our 4 centers are practically locked. Petey, Bo, Dickinson, Sutter. Kerfoot is younger, but Miller is better. The intriguing part is taking Myers and giving Rielly back. One of Rielly's biggest strengths is Powerplay quarterback, but he won't be getting that here. He is a good puck mover, but a 1 UFA. He replaces Myers on a pairing with OEL. That pairing would be pretty insane NHL. Value, end of the day, is fair. But for cap reasons, I think Van passes.
