This is a hard no from Detroit.

You're not getting both a player and one of the only two retention slots we have for only an extremely late 1st round pick.

We have 6 players on expiring contracts that may have to be traded away at the deadline and we simply can't give away retention slots that we will need to facilitate those trades.

If you want Fabbri and salary retained it will cost you something more than pick #32.

If you offer Raddysh + Ryfors + Finley I'll think about it, otherwise I'll hang up the phone.

The same top 6, as Rod BrindA'mour said The Best Goalie in the world, still a solid bottom 6 better than a lot realize and an extremely good d-corps

We would retain for a 3rd. A 5th is nothing.

I don't see them getting past the Panthers next year. Cats are stacked and know they can beat the Lightning.

Winning 2 games in a series tells them that? Florida was getting away with crazy s*** all series long and still lost 4-2
Lomberg literally punched Yanni Gourde in the face 5 times and no penalty was called

Whining about reffing in a hockey game in the playoffs is moot at this point. Every team got away with crazy stuff. Deal with it and don't flaunt it as a childish excuse. Cats are the better team now.

Worse defense and far worse goaltending, haven't won a playoff series in the cap era, were pretty soundly beaten by the Lightning(Panthers were very fortunate not to get swept after Tampa gave game 3 and a 3-0 series lead away), and Tampa is the 2-time defending champs, but yes, the Panthers are better than the Lightning now...Tbe Panthers may be stronger at F in the bottom 6( we'll see how the young Lightning players adjust), and the Panthers are certainly better on paper than almost any other team they have started a season with, but until they prove anything when it actually counts they are not "a better team than the Lightning".

As far as trading for someone like Fabbri(or other likely candidates in a similar position like Rakell or Jarnkrok perhaps), it will depend largely on how Brisebois views the F core moving ahead. If the team believes that Palat will not re-sign for what they can likely offer, then going after a F that would be UFA but that they could re-sign for the right $ could be a sound plan. Re-signing Palat and trading Killorn for value also makes this a reasonable option. If not, JBB could just add the player as a rental like with Savard, but this is not usually Tampa's way of doing things with traded for players. If Tampa has a need though as the TDL approaches and JBB thinks filling it will give the team a good shot at another Cup, there's little doubt he'll do what is needed to acquire said player.
