OK, so the Wild get a cap dump and a pick two years from now for a good, right-handed top4 D. That is a pretty bad return. You'd be closer if you dropped Anderson and moved the pick to 2022, but I still don't think that'd be enough.

Not sure if Anderson is a cap dump. He just played a very big role in a team getting to the Stanley cup and is young? This might not be a trade that would happen but Anderson is not a cap dump

Anderson isn't a cap dump, and the trade was based on a Jackets ACGM that only had us sending the 2023 1st and Ana 2022 3rd for Dumba straight up.

Sure Anderson is a useful player but we cannot afford his contract, considering he'd play on our 3rd line.

I was trying to think what do the Hawks need and looked at some Hawks ACGM's and saw they were looking for a 3rd line defensively sound LW and a 2nd

For me Bozak is too old, we had Staal and Perry and I don't think either of them would have worked well over a full 82 game season. Plus Strome isn't being brought in as a shutdown center he can just play his game.

Hawks need a top 4 LD coming back for Strome, they might have to add, but that's what they need. This doesn't do much for Chicago, they pass.

Make sure there’s a contract extension and don’t make it excessive

I would think another 3 x 3.5 seems fair for him maybe even bump to 4 Max

The fact that Strome isn’t being brought in as a shut down centre is part of the problem.

And Bozak isn’t Perry or Staal. Alex Ovechkin and Patrice Bergeron are the same age as Perry, but they’re more than fine playing an entire season.

2023rd 1st pick are gold right now. imagine getting a bad year and this pick become Bebard... no ones gonna trade their 2023rd 1st...

hawks need a top 4 LD or a first round pick to make it worth trading strome. I don't think Chariot is that. If you don't like that take then agree to disagree I guess. I don't think this deal does much for the hawks

That's a 1/32 chance at best. You just went to the finals, mate. "Imagine, if it is Bedard" is not a valid argument.

If you are worried about that you could top 10 protect the pick.
