Really? You guys have really come down on what you think Eichel is worth. This return is garbage.

I don't recall ever arguing D prospects had value?

Nothing prior to this, but i said replace Bouchard, whos supposed to be this great prospect with Yamamoto, who has been pretty meh in the NHL and everyone said i was asking too much. (I also posted before he added Puljujarvi, who doesnt really add anything to the trade any way) So does that mean a meh forward is worth more than an A level d prospect

Why would Edmonton have to give up more than NYR? This is a better return than basically every Eichel-to-Rangers trade I've seen on here. Double standard.

I don't think either Yamamoto or Bouchard are half as good as the Oilers think they are.

Yamamoto over the past 1.5 seasons at 5v5: 0.72 G/60

    Puljujarvi this year at 5v5: 0.89 G/60

    Eichel past 2 years at 5v5: 0.74 G/60

Yeah, Yamamoto and Puljujarvi are "pretty meh" and "(don't) really add anything".

Wow! I was about to post how much I liked this trade.
Then I scrolled down to you to find the same thought.
Holloway, Bouchard, and Puljujärvi all have above average potential to be top 6 forwards or top 4 defensemen.
Bouchard punches the first ticket RHD, If he were on the team he would most likely be paired with Dahlin.
RW prospect. Among Puljujärvi, Quinn, Peterka, Rosen I am certain the Sabres will find two blue chippers.
Center Similar idea among Holloway, Cozens, Mittelstadt, Ruotsalainen, Asplund the Sabres will find two decent 2nd line centers (not one of them will make us forget Jack).
Jack traded to a team out west.
    Three picks as well

We can sit here an discuss Kassian and Koskinen value, but the former adds the long needed grit and the latter a decent GK tandem to keep the Sabres from being embarrassed too often this year.
I make this trade every chance I get. K and K will be gone by time the Sabres are competitive.

Let me add, I think by the time 2022 TDL rolls around Karmanos will be getting at least third round picks for Hagg, Butcher and Miller to add to the future draft picks.
Who knows maybe Koskinen finds his game and returns a pick as well.

Jets aren't likely to waive Nash, as they will use league minimum guys to fill out the 4th line.

Wouldn't mind giving up a late pick for him but basically any 4th line defensive C with a good face-off percentage will do.

when I first commented Puljujarvi was not in the trade. and I think he added more picks as well.
I think the plan with goalies is to have Dell lose as many starts as possible while Anderson plays fewer games in the first half of the season, games where he wont get shelled at least, and by or at the February break they waive Dell and bring up UPL. By that time they will be in contention for last place and about a month shy of trading off anything they can move so they can tank while still having Anderson mentor UPL and not killing UPLs confidence.

I absolutely see why you like the trade from Buffalo's side, it's a huge win. By the same token, Edmonton rejects because its a huge loss for them.
