Couldn't even give him the 925k?

How does that cap hit work?

It’s crazy how at one point he was considered the consensus #1 overall pick.

This is the guy I wanted in Columbus the most. Would have been a gamble, but I would have taken him instead of Ceulemans if I were Jarmo.

Good pickup by Isles

Looked especially good with Hirovinen in the WJSC tournament. Wish we could have got him to keep this duo together lul. Oh well all the luck of the draft as they say

he should have went to play in either the QMJHL, OHL, or the WHL then he probs would have went 1OA. Playing in an adult league like Liga was not smart for him as it hurt his value

If I were a player who would be drafted in the NHL I would not want to be the first overall guy either. Too much pressure.

Do they give 925k to 2nd round picks?

I agree completely.
This is a steal for NYI.
I was pissed the penguins didn't move up to get him when he was that far down in the 2nd round.

You can sign any pick to any amount within the rookie wage scale.

You wouldn’t want the almost 3M of performance bonuses either I guess?😂
