That return sucks. If Marner goes to LA Toronto should be getting Turcotte back as a starting piece.

Hahaha I wish. I love Marner, he is my favourite Leaf, but dealing Turcotte was a deal breaker in moving for Eichel, let alone Marner.

Well that's what it would take for me to move Marner. I'm not trading him for scraps so we can get cap space to sign players like Nick Ritchie and Kampf.

No I completely agree, I don't think people realize just how big a Marner trade would be. I would definitely want a guy like Turcotte because he is ridiculously good, but it would be irresponsible for a rebuilding team like LA to move one of their best, if not their best young piece. It would also be irresponsible for the Leafs to move their premier playmaker for next to nothing. I dont think LA moves Turcotte, but it would certainly take more than this for Marner. Roy and Kalyiev would be nice pieces, but again its not even close. People dont realize that a Marner trade isnt just a cap dump.

Kings decline. I would rather have young, good players to build around and maybe trade for missing pieces later than take on those two bad contracts. The salary cap flexibility is better to have than to keep loosing key players when their contracts come up, like Hyman this year and Rielly next year.

As a Kings fan I wouldn’t even want this deal. Marner is not a good fit in Los Angeles

Turcotte isn't their best prospect they have Byfield and Vilardi and already have Kopitar and Danault. How many centre prospects does 1 team need? One or 2 of them will get traded in a couple years anyways.

Marner would instantly become your best player. I think most other teams fans don't understand how good he is.

Sure we definitely overpaid for him but only cause he was an RFA. If he was a UFA he would have gotten 12M+. Columbus wanted to give him 12.5M and was willing to give up 4 1sts but Marner didnt want to play there.

Kopitar is by far a better player than Marner. He might eventually be better than Kopitar but Marner hasn't shown he is the same player in the playoffs as he is in the regular season. Until he can prove that, he will always be the whipping boy for the Toronto fan base. So if Marner wasn't going to sign an offer sheet for Columbus why did you have to pay him the $10.9? Cap management has been an issue for Dubas.
