Manage under salary cap, Just add some new players for now. Just give up Weber, but add, Nick Cousin, Jesse Puljujarvi, and Roope Hintz. I know it not a big players name, but it something that possible making into playoff but deep though.

Take out Weber & the 1st, and that's a fair offer for Cousins.

Hintz would’ve been your number one point per game player this year. I’m pretty sure he’d get more than this.

Hintz is on his way to being a top 15 center. His health is the only thing that held him back. He’s gonna cost way more than that

Hintz is better than Pulju. Neither of them consider those offers anyways. Why is Cousins your 2C?

So a player Montreal signed a month ago for depth is traded to the wild and wild give away a 4th round pick because? Besides it's unrealistic, wild say no.

I appreciate your honesty, but this is confusing on so many levels. Ask yourself these questions:

Why would Nashville want Weber back?
Why would you take Caufield, the most natural scorer on your team and put him a centre (not his natural position) and playing 4th-line minutes?
Why would the Habs trade Paquette having just signed him?
Why would Edmonton want to trade Puljujarvi -- a disappointment in Edmonton, but nonetheless a cheap and serviceable player -- for a couple of draft picks?
Why would Roope Hintz suddenly become a #1 centre, and why would Dallas give him up when he's their #2 LW and the heir to Jamie Benn's role? And if he is a centreman, they'll need him to replace Pavelsky in a year's time.

One thing I have learned over the past few years here is that you always have to put yourself in the shoes of the other team's GM/owner. With rare exception, you need to ask how does the move you're proposing make the other team better right now? Even then, with the cap being what it is, deals have to overwhelmingly favour the other team to be considered these days. That's true of the Capfriendly communities AND the NHL.
