Stop offering pennies for Brannstrom

Created by: csick
Team: 2021-22 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 15, 2021
Published: Aug. 15, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I could see 2 ways Brannstrom gets traded and no he isn’t being run out of town, we just have a bigger need at forward.

Could be a 1 for 1 for a young forward prospect of the same caliber , Denisenko, Tippett , Vilardi type of forward. Even willing to send him back to Vegas for Tuch

Or could be included in a package for Eichel, Hertl (with extension) or someone of that caliber .

He isn’t being moved for any Strome, Domi, etc.

He was on pace for 35pts as a 21 year old , 52.7 CF%, was our best PP QB and was solid at creating offence. And he’s not bad defensively

You know why certain AGMs are doing that, though. Dorion and McGuire are obsessed with drafting beeg bois at the moment.

I'm guessing part of a bigger package.

Per Toronto AGM's that would be Dermott and Engvall obviously.

Per NYR AGM's that would be Brannstrom, a 1st, and Tkachuk for Strome obviously.

Back in reality, Hertl makes the most sense IMO.

Hertl extended does make sense but don’t know if SJ would be interested in a D prospect.

Cost controlled RD so they can scratch Vlasic for the next 4 years lol? Sounds good...

No he's terrible defensively and soft and easily knocked around in his own zone. He's a bottom pair PP specialist at best. You won't get anything good for him

    Agreed

If Brannstrom is moved its gonna be for a top 6 center

With Dvoraks name flying around would not be surprised if a deal is worked on where Dvorak goes to Ottawa and a package with Brannstrom as the main piece goes to Houston (wink)

Still think moving him would be a mistake but with DJ Smith as the head coach might be best to move him before its to late
