That "depth" is not what the Devils need to get better...

Scissons is fine but I'm not sure where he fits. Isles don't want to break up the fourth line and with Parise at 3LW I don't see a spot/need for Scissons.

You have a funny take on what you think the Kings situation is currently.

They have been anything BUT impulsive. Impulsive would have been to trade Byfield+ for Eichel. Impulsive would have been sending the #8OA pick this year for Reinhart. Impulsive would have been taking on all of Tarasenko's salary. They aren't going to take on that gargantuan contract Duchene. Not when it'll still be in full swing when Byfield, Turcotte, Kaliyev, Vilardi, Bjornfot etc all need raises.

Also, the Kings don't view Quick as a cap-dump. He's valuable in the role that he'll be playing going forward, which is a 1B sliding into backup duties to a cheap Cal Peterson.

You may see it as selling high on Jeannot, but I think you're selling low on Kunin here. I agree with @GeauxPreds1 - none of these moves make sense for NSH.

Welcome to CapFriendly. The Kings trade needs some work.

Trenin and Evangelista are a pretty fair value swap for Lizotte and Andersson, but the Kings are high on both of their players. Don't think they're looking to shop either before seeing what they can do this season.

Duchene has negative value for the Preds and doesn't fill a need for the Kings, who are already log jammed at center. Quick isn't worth his contract anymore, but is a more than capable backup goaltender. The Kings like what he brings to the tandem and aren't looking to shop him. If a quality offer presents itself (i.e. not negative value), then the Kings might consider moving him, but as it stands, they don't need the cap space and do need a backup/1B goaltender.
