Im not sure we trade Tarasenko

Description
Unhappy or not, there’s no way we move a guy who’s been one of the best 5v5 goal scorers since he came into the league for nothing. DA has shown that he’s willing to wait for a good deal (ROR/Schenn/Buch) and I think we have a very legitimate forward core that should help entice VT to want to stay. I’m a fan of the Niederreiter trades that’ve been proposed, I think that could be a good “hockey trade” but the garbage like a cap dump and a 2-3 round pick is totally unrealistic. I wouldn’t mind doing a more complex move to hopefully bring in a better LHD (Ekholm/Fowler?) but the reality is we don’t have to move him.

Agree with you. I think they showcase him first half of season and if he proves he’s healthy they’ll get done good offers leading up to TDL. If he’s hurt it’s prob an LTIR situation

100% agree i just do mock trades with him but if he is healthy and plays well he could get a big haul for him if not then a second and like a b level prospect would work to or we get some ltir money

Don’t forget the Blues exposed him… and Seattle didn’t even want him

2nd round pick for Tarasenko seems fair right now if there's no retention.

If Tarasenko returns to form he's worth a lot more probably a 1st and a prospect. If not he might be a cap dump or a buyout candidate.

I don’t get this argument - Dunn fits what the Kraken were doing (younger, cheaper, more team control). And just bc one team passed doesn’t mean every team in the league did.

Armstrong wants more value than any GM is willing to give without Tara proving he’s healthy. It’s that simple.

Agreed

Just looking at how much his value is… a top line goalscorer who just had his 3rd shoulder surgery at a 7.5 cap hit, during flat cap
And also wants out

Seattle didn’t like the risk so they opted to take Dunn

High risk high reward
