Well it looks as if NSH has made up their mind on rebuild vs try to contend

This would likely be more of a deadline deal

Elkholm and Forsberg for Salo Bellows, a 1st and Leo Maybe they don't take Leo so imagine a 2nd to dump his contract

NSH gets a decent D prospect in Salo, a forward who still has potential in bellows and a late 1st round pick. writing this out NYI prob adds their 2nd or 2 3rds.

NYI would really have to make a push this year. Next year they have to resign Pulock at at least 6.5 also Dobson who could be high 3-4 depending on how he does + how the market is right now. They'd loose one of forsberg or Elkholm but Wahlstrom might be ready to step into the 1st at that point.

I think this team still has a pretty decent window to win a cup. They can flip Varly after next year and if Holland is still at EDM they'll prob get like broberg or like 2 1sts.

Problems:
That’s not enough going to Nashville.
Palmeri was signed and needs to be on the roster.
Too much $ for Parise and Sorokin
Not enough $ for Cizikas
The taxi squad no longer exists, bench players count against the cap.
Not enough cap space to ice a team.

That’s nowhere near enough for both forsberg snd ekholm.

Also, where did they say they’re going into a rebuild? Last I heard they were working on an extension with Forsberg.

They're calling it a "competitive rebuild." Working to extend Forsberg and Ekholm, but also bringing in young guys. It's all about balance? We'll see if it works.
