Habs are not inclined to drop Drouin for an old goalie where we have way better one ... try something else !

That pick could be 11th overall in one of the best drafts of all time though potentially 😐 even if it ends up likely ~20th that's pretty cool beans

I mean I still feel the mtl deal is too much for them to give up but in fairness... wow Edmonton are stuck right now and that really would help a lot

Jfc holland 😑

Love the skillset fit Drouin + draisaitl

Kassian was a healthy scratch 20ish times last year

Scratched for the likes of:

Khaira
Archibald
Shore
Chiasson
The Ghost of Kyle Turris

Why on earth would he be on the 1st line

Much better low cost FAs still available

Donato
Galchenyuk
Etc.

Heck Marody is probably better at this point

Habs are pretty set at goalie with Price, Allen and Primeau. I think the they would likely be more interested in Lavoie than Koskinen, especially if they're giving up Drouin.

1. Drouin isn't a cap dump. He had a down year and still would have been 4th on the oilers for points by forward. He'd be pretty good with Draisatl or McDavid.

2. Why would MTL have to retain and give a 3rd?

3. Koskinen is worth > a 2nd round pick to dump, not quite a 1st but the difference between Drouin (with salary retention) and a 3rd makes the 1st not worth it... and I don't think MTL has any interest in taking cap dumps for contracts either after just going to the finals and drafting a lot over the last few years... they are looking to be competitive now not take cap dumps.

Yep I'd take a chance on Galchenyuk instead of Drouin if I was the oilers. Drouin would be pretty good with Draisatl but I could see Galchenyuk being good with McDavid and Hyman to be honest, allowing Draisaitl to anchor the 2nd line.

It all depends whether Galchenyuk has told his meddling father to go home. The guy was a lousy hockey player who has filled his kid's head with dumb ideas that have got him traded waived numerous times. It's tragic. If I were Bergevin, I'd say to Chucky "I'll give you $3M if your dad goes on a year-long cruise around the world." Then, maybe, Chucky could begin to reach his potential.

Coach loves archie too much can’t see any way Holland moves him.
I’m completely fine moving on from kosk but it has to be a clear cut upgrade which I don’t see this round about creating. Certainly not enough of one to justify the assets used.
Drouin would have been a good target before adding Hyman or if nuge wasn’t extended at this point he isn’t needed and would cause a complication in the line up likely resulting in loosing benson on waivers. That’s a road I think better off avoiding. Also would like to know the real reason Drouin went on leave this past season if there is any truth to the can’t handle media or pressure is Edmonton any better when he gets into a rut? Ask ebs he didn’t have kind words when leaving.

I mean 2022 draft is probably the better one since a couple years so I think that we (Montreal) will accept this because we have a lot of wingers and we can trade Allen if we have Price and Koskinen. Adding the fact that if we don't make the playoffs, we'll have maybe 2 1st round picks in the top 15 in an incredible draft year.

non merci! Avec Drouin les oilers se qualifient en série et le choix se ramasse dans les 20-25! Koskinen est un boulet financier et inutile.
