Description
Before everyone FREAKS OUT, I am not a fan of either team. I was just wondering how fair this is. This is also assuming there are signing issues with EP which I believe there are. This might also hurt VAN cap wise, but whatever. Personally I think VAN would probably have to add, but then there's the neck issues so let's hear it!

Sabres say no. When healthy Eichel>pettersson. And it isn’t just that. They want many young peices, 1st rounders, other picks etc. Doing this would be a lateral move and wouldn’t make any sense. Just keep Eichel if that’s the case.

Do you really want to keep someone who clearly has absolutely no desire to be part of your organization?

But he's not healthy so that's irrelevant

Canucks aren't doing that. You don't trade your franchise first-line center for a guy with a shattered neck. There also haven't been any signing issues with Petey so I have no idea where you came up with that

Oh my god… The sabres might as well keep him if this is the trade offer what’s so hard to understand.

Ur focusing on the wrong thing. Why would the sabres do this? It’s a lateral move and that’s not what they’re trying to do. It wouldn’t make sense.

Oh my god… The sabres might as well keep him if this is the trade offer what’s so hard to understand a lot he's friggin injury prone and wants absolutely nothing to do with Buffalo and the difference is minimal . They'd be friggin idiots to do that what's so hard to see

Oh, I dunno maybe because Eichel has said he wants out? It's irrelevant tho because the Canucks aren't doing that

So? If he wants out you still get the best possible return for him.

Like I said, it’s not a good idea to do this. One for one doesn’t make sense. Franchise centre for franchise centre? How is that moving into a rebuild? They need 1st rounders, other picks, prospects, young players that they can build up. That’s what a rebuild is. Not doing this trade.

Not saying I'm for this trade just a talking piece, but to counter this way they get rid of a guy who clearly doesn't wanna be there (EP probably doesn't want to be either but still) and they get a 1C that's 2 years younger. I know overall Eichel is better, but in 2 years will EP be better than Eichel was at 24? Time will tell I guess. Just saying a rebuilding team getting a younger 1C looking for a change, not so bad when you look at it that way. Also, they need someone to throw on the ice and you can't throw 1st round picks on the ice haha

did you see that quote where Petty said he wants to sign somewhere he can win? No chance he signs anything that has UFA years contracted with Buffalo

I bet he'd rather play in Vaxjo with his brother before he signs with Buffalo long term

You’re first point is very debatable. But your second point is spot on. It doesn’t make any sense for BUF when they’re this deep into a year down and rebuild.

At least 2-3 full years more guaranteed of Pettersson

    Buffalo should add ultimately ✔

Honestly if it was Eichel and Quinn for Pettersson it wouldn't be crazy: the age difference, better possession player, etc.
