Leafs don't want Kreider his cap hit is too high. I'd do Rielly for Schneider and a protected 1st.

A mixture of conditional picks instead and the prospects are interchangeable. Can't really trade prospects here as that's more on what the development system sees in players and if they fit

I'd love to do it as the Leafs but they can't take on the Kreider contract with its long term, the deal just doesn't work for their cap. They'd have no chance at keeping Miller in a few seasons when his contract is due and he's really the center piece of whats coming back.

Pretty sure both teams decline this. Leafs won't be interested in that Krieder contract - if they were they woulda offered it to Hyman. The prospects are nice but they're still a "what if" with no proven NHL time to date. When you're trading a legit #1 d-man, you'd better be getting back significant pieces and they just aren't it.

Rielly isn't the type of d-man that the Rangers need. His offensive numbers would drop because he'd be purely a 2nd PP guy likely behind Fox, and then the value isn't there for them. Kerfoot isn't useful to them either, Strome is in the same type of player area. & the Rangers already have depth wingers so Mikheyev is of no use to them.
