Yep, but it doesn't stand out anymore. It is just one of many, many bad contracts handed out to defensemen this year.

Still stands out. Poolman is a replaceable 6/7dman at best but realistically should be in the pressbox.

These kinds of Dman usually make league min to around 1mill. The fact he is gonna make 2.5mill for 4 years shows how bad that deal is lul. Like not even jets fans could defend this deal lul

Zadorov is not a good defenseman. He has all the things going for him that get bad defenseman paid though:
He's huge
He has pedigree (first rounder)
He hits a lot

But he's just not particularly good. He's in his prime. Plays about 2nd-3rd pairing minutes.

This is alright for a guy who is good defensively (only in Even Strength) but holds back the offense big time.

A lot of money for at best a 3rd pairing Dman. He'll make Calgary's PK work harder. Yikes! I mean why not take a flyer on a fringer or try out one of your defensive prospects?

No, he's a shutdown defencemen, which is something the Canucks needed. They didn't need to pay $2.5 million for Poolman, but he's not someone who should be a healthy scratch.

I don’t think it’ll hurt awfully because it’s only one year but man it’s a good thing it is especially at that cap hit
