Broberg and Yamamoto were first round picks and then you have another 1st. The 8th OA pick 2 years ago Broberg is not there yet but could develop into a good D-man. Yamamoto has proven he can produce playing with good players.

I have zero dog in this fight. I think I actually prefer the Canes team/players over the Oilers and while the Canes have zero reason to make that trade (and I too would demand better than that for AS), that Draisaitl hyperbole is still unjustified.

Svech is seen as a franchise player by the org and the fan base and his potential is that of an elite star in the league. The pieces offered are fine but the team would need a wild over pay to move this player since like you said there’s no incentive for trading a player like Svech. Obviously it was an over reaction which was the point of the post. In order for a trade like this to be made it would have to be an overpay and essentially an over reaction in a manner of speaking.

I realize you’re not a fan on either side here but it’s comical that a few others posting on here are so upset that this type of deal won’t land a player like Svech. It’s not that hard of a concept to understand - a young, team controlled, potential superstar won’t be traded from any team unless a wild overpayment is proposed.

They need to get their eyesight adjusted then. He's been playing with two very good players (Aho and Teravainen), a disproportionate amount of his points are 2nd assists and he sports a low IPP - both of which indicates that he's not the one driving play on that line.

He's not outscoring Yamamoto, who is widely considered a complimentary player next to Draisaitl. The facts would suggest that that's what Svechnikov is to Aho.

Clearly your assessment of the player is driving this hyperbole of yours: you've vastly overrated him here and can't see that the proposed trade is actually an OVERPAY by Edmonton, one which they would flatly refuse if approached by Carolina.
