Well Jack Hughes was a freaking first overall pick. Luke was the 2nd best defenseman in his class and those 2 first round pick might be lottery picks

Id say if you have Jack Hughes in the trade you likely only need a 1st and another good prospect but not an A prospect

Sharangovich outscored Johansen by 8 points last season and is entering his prime while ryan is leaving his... why would NJ make that trade 😐

Yegor will be half his cap hit for a few years too

Not to mention they're adding assets even?

So Johansen basically has minus value and you give up a great top 6 piece in Yegor + Bahl and a 2nd? If you wanna comptete for the cup in 2023-2024 you should keep Yegor and avoid the aging veteran in Johansen. Also Tkachuk won't sign that. Give him a 2 year 7.5m deal and then you lock him up for 8x9. Also when Hughes hits his peak he won't be far behind Eichel so trading away him plus a potential 1st D and 2 high 1st rounders is ablosutely horrendous. Hughes makes even more sense than Eiche if you wanna rebuild and when you wanna go for it he'll be 22-23
