except that what happens if they arnt ready? a 4d is much more important than a LW when you have 4 forwards like the leafs. What they did makes much more sense, replacing Hyman's production with 3 cheap guys was easier and it gives them more flexibility. Ritchie alone scored as much as Hyman did last year and he wasnt even on the power play.

I dont think that makes them better enough in the short term to have any real affect, and certainly makes the habs worse long term. If it was Brook or something with a first maybe and i for sure wouldnt be adding Byron in to increase the cost.

Montreal is not moving Romanov and a 1st for Letang, even with an extension.
