Isn't Hertl's qualifying offer something Ridiculous like 9 million or something after his deal is up? Maybe I have it messed up with someone else though I can't remember fully.

If that is the case though I'd rather make a move for Dvorak since he's locked up for cheaper and for longer (even though Hertl is better)

That's the price. GM Wilson said any offer for Hertl would need to be "mind-blowing" to be accepted. He's a top 30 center in this league and those do not come cheap.

that is a bit of having your cake and eating it too. If he is willing to extend, he would do it. And if hes not, hes going to be traded as a pure rental.
Sharks are not going to have the ideal scenario on either side.

Its like every high profile TDL target teams will grind the sharks down for the fear of losing him for nothing....which you wont get that type of return, or they keep onto him and now have to extend him against hte clock after trying to trade him which doesnt sit well for guys like that who want to win now.

I get it’s a rental but Debrusk value is pretty low right now and doesn’t seem like a legitimate part of the team going forward, Haula is best suited as a 4C if you look at his play over the last 2 seasons and a mid to late first rounder which would really be the main piece for the sharks. If I’m Boston I’d gladly do that deal.
