I really don't see how this works for both teams. Montreal needs a 3C and Drouin's setup abilities and St. Louis needs shooters. Doesn't fill any need on either team.

The Tank is in reference to Tarasenko's nickname, not actually tanking. Team's are just swapping problem players. Tarasenko is a better player so the second is thrown in. I don't know what is wrong with Drouin though and why he didn't play in the playoffs.

I just want this Tarasenko thing over with. Armstrong really liked Drouin's game in the past and had rumor a deal to get him from TB for Shattenkirk/plus back in the day to Tampa, but Shattenkirk rejected the trade.

Acting desperate is exactly how teams get rooked. Army is not going to be desperate and Drouin is just another headache that doesn;t even fit our needs. Besides, what may have happened five years ago is irrelevant.

Not “no one” knows. The way Bergevin (who does know) speaks, it sounds to me (for whatever that’s worth) like either a) mental health issues, b) addiction, or c) a combination of both a) and b). They are probably more common reasons as to why players get moved than fans are ever aware of. The euphemism in media of “needing a fresh start” gets used a lot, and I’d imagine (again, for whatever that’s worth) that many of those cases fall into a, b, or c.
