Why acquire your own draft picks by flipping valuable players following the expansion draft when you can just sign rejected draft picks from other teams directly, right?

I remember this guy with MIN. He looked like he'd carve out a legitimate niche as a 7th dman, but injuries ruined him. Now he'll be permanently stuck in the minors, probably.
