I’d have preferred Gourde over Goodrow. A center core of Mika, Strome, Gourde and Rooney would’ve been quite good.

I mean the year after would be Mika, Chytil, Gourde and resigning Rooney or Barron. Still a good lineup. Gourde handles more of the defensive load, which he’s proven to do, letting the other guys be more geared to offense.

I'd rather lose Gourde for free than lose two players for a 2nd

Buch isn’t as good as we all think. Certainly not good enough to prevent younger players with high ceilings from moving up the line up. If he was as good as you think and what most on here think then we would have had way better offers. Just think about that, no one, wait, on STL wanted to add him for that price.
