The SoCal team that would be interested in a high-quality RD (to replace Josh Manson and Kevin Shattenkirk) is Anaheim, not Los Angeles. The Kings are quite happy going forward with Doughty, Roy and Walker, with Jordan Spence and Helge Grans coming up (not to mention 2021 first-round draft pick/steal Brandt Clarke, who has already been signed).

Good to know. I thought I heard at one point they were in the market for a RHD. I could be wrong. Also the surplus of young centers is appealing.

Wild absolutely aren't signing kaprizov to 3 years deal, and walking him to free agency

22 off season. 4 year deal. Took off a year for this season. 4 years gets the Wild out of the Parise and Suter buyouts to pay him more.

The Kings have an embarrassment of riches at RHD. Center is probably the only position where they are more heavily stocked.

Doughty
Roy
Walker
Clarke
Faber
Grans
Spence
Strand
Durzi

The guy that is 7th on the RHD depth chart won QMJHL defenseman of the year in 2020 and was a member of Canada's WJC gold medal team last Christmas. They're pretty much set at that position for the foreseeable future.

Things could change if Dumba hits Walker in the eye again with another slap shot.
What do you know about Grans development? I really liked him his draft year.

I’ll bet even money that Faber ends up the better between he and Clarke!

He had a solid season in Sweden, although he was left off the WJC team last year. LA signed him to his ELC and intends for him to play his 19-year old season in the AHL instead of back in Sweden so he can progress in the Kings' developmental system. Looking forward to seeing what he can do on the Reign. Grans, Spence, Durzi, and Strand will all be fighting for ice time down there.

The Kings Development camp going on right now would suggest otherwise. Clarke has looked spectacular so far. Faber isn't attending this camp due to injury.

I don't disagree. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the team. But I think Clarke is going to be a 70+ point guy based on what I've seen so far.

I watched Faber play 20 times last year with my beloved U of M Golden Gophers and was blown away with his poise and overall game!
